Glaze

A thinned-down, translucent emulsion that may or may not contain pigment (color).

 

Glossy Finish

The appearance of sheen after a paint or finish dries.

 

Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI)

A safety circuit breaker that compares the amount of current entering a receptacle with the amount leaving. If there is a discrepancy of 0.005 volt, the GFCI breaks the circuit in a fraction of a second. GFCIs are required by the National Electrical Code in kitchens, bathrooms, laundries-and in any other rooms with plumbing.

Thin mortar used to fill in spaces between tiles, bricks or other surfaces.
